Love-shak[uhachi]

See what I did there? [note: if you read this blog with any sort of consistency, you will notice a recurring theme that is BAD PUNS, unabashedly].

The lovely biddies over at Shakuhachi have started a Tumblr. It's pretty neat! I really love the above picture of Anja, sigh. Now just waiting for them to open a store in Melbourne. Fuck Sydney getting their lovely little pop-up stores...at least we get TopShop first!

AUS RISING

Just stopped by SHOPBOP to suss out items my student budget won't let me afford to be delighted by a feature called AUSTRALIAN RISING. Yay for us! Showcasing the best of local talent including Fernando Frisoni, ManiaMania, Sober & Dion Lee and with little style notes by Zanita, this is a such a heartwarming feature for Australian fashion!

Have a leetle look on the home page here ...

ELLERY MEMORIES

The latest ELLERY Resort '11 campaign is so gosh darn beautiful. Featuring super babe Kim Noorda, the collection is all wonder and lust and pretty pieces any lady would stab for. Earlier in the year, I was a volunteer at RAFW and I was lucky enough to be the girl selected to do the very important job of 'hold the broken door open for the models.' Being inches away from this glorious collection before it was showcased was one of those odd surreal moments that you just wish to stay in forever. The dreamlike fluffy white skirt (which was modelled by Julia Nobis at RAFW) was my choicey-pick of the collection. I'm waiting for the day when Kym Ellery completely fucks up and delivers an ugly collection BUT I KNOW IT WILL NEVER COME. She's such a gem. The cherry on top of my year was when I was backstage and she gave me a hug mistaking me for someone else and I totally owned that shit. Keep it up Ellery, you bloody winner.

☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾☾

Hey little friends.
This here is a blog by me and my name is Samantha. I've previously been rather shit at maintaining a blog, so if I keep this one updated regularly, I'm giving myself a big present like a new pair of shoes or a trip to the moon or something. I live in lovely Melbourne town, I work in retail and I should be a journalism graduate but instead I'm a procrastinating journalism student. This blog will essentially be one of fashion, music and culture with a few other little pieces of nonsense thrown in for funzies. Have a swell day, you look peachy.

Merci,

Samantha
